How to prevent Mosquitoes
Control standing water- Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water and lay around 100 larvae at a time. If you have standing water on your property, you are allowing your mosquito population to continually regenerate. A lot of times, people forget about the standing water around their property, because it is in areas such as bird baths, buckets, ponds, etc. Mosquitoes will spawn from the smallest amounts of water.

Remove algae from any ponds or creeks- Mosquitoes will use the algae in standing water as a food source. If you limit the amount of algae, you will effectively limit the amount of mosquitoes that live after birth.
Get your neighbors on board- If your neighbors are not controlling their mosquito population, you are still going to get a wave of mosquitoes coming over the fence. The more people around you that implement mosquito control plans to their house, the more effective your own population control gets.
